We’re so glad that we contacted you after seeing your ad for custom egress window coverings in the local newspaper. We had checked with local retail stores but found that the standard covers on the market were too small for our windows. Until we had a better solution, we created some make-shift covers using plywood and clear plastic with a cement block to hold them down. They did keep the snow out, but the basement received little or no natural light during the winters. Another downside was that we couldn’t open the windows easily. The uncovered windows in the spring, summer, and fall had another drawback. We had quite an assortment of critters that had fallen into the window wells and couldn’t get out. We fished out frogs, toads, salamanders, mice, our cat, and a baby woodchuck. We also found raccoon “droppings” in one of the wells, but he had managed to crawl out by himself by clawing his way up the side of the house while tearing up the Tyvek-covered foam basement blocks. One call, and you were out here measuring our windows and explaining your product. I know you were busy with winter fast approaching, but we really appreciated your getting the covers made and installed so quickly. They are even better than we thought they’d be. You did a great job with the fit on every window, and after a few snows on them, we find that they are easy to keep clear. The design’s raised center seems to keep a lot of the snow from accumulating on the covers. They appear very strong and are securely attached to the window well frames so we have no worries about their blowing off. We’re enjoying our sun-lit basement this fall/winter and feel more secure knowing that we can easily open the egress windows and get out should the need arise. Our investment in these covers was money well spent. Thank you. |
